Job summary

POET is seeking a Material Handler for on-site work in Cloverdale, IN. You will load dried distillers’ grains, ethanol, corn oil, wet cake feed, distiller’s syrup, or biomass into trucks and rail cars, using mechanical equipment and scales.

Training may include grading grain products or biomass and operating related software. The role requires physical labor, outdoor work, and potential DOT certification, with safety and quality at the core of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience operating heavy machinery preferred.
• Experience loading/unloading trucks, rail cars and tankers preferred.
• DOT certification preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new programs.

Responsibilities

• Load trucks and rail cars with feed and fuel products using mechanical equipment to ensure timely delivery.
• Assist with grain product or biomass unloading functions.
• Complete grading of grain products or biomass as trained.
• Operate large machinery; may require DOT certification.
• Maintain a clean work area and adhere to safety procedures.
• Enter bins per confined space procedures and complete necessary paperwork.
