Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team on a part-time basis in New York, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and calibration of biomedical equipment to ensure optimal performance and patient safety.

What you will do:
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on medical equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
  • Order and install replacement parts as needed
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards
  • Provide technical support and training to healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair in a hospital setting
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and regulatory requirements

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must pass background and drug screen (no exceptions)

Safety Requirements:
  • Maintain a safe working environment for self and others if they come in contact within the biomed area in accordance with the facility’s policies
  • Must follow OSHA guidelines in regard to blood borne pathogens, airborne pathogens, radiation, sharp instruments and/or tools, hazardous liquids, and operating devices
  • Ontime completion of safety trainings assignments
  • Must have sensory ability to distinguish hot & cold ranges of temperature, surfaces, fine motor skills, manual dexterity, and detect/distinguish colors
  • Must be able be able to carry or lift up to 50 pounds routinely
