Job summary

Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, part of Community Health Systems, Inc., seeks a Biomedical Technician II to evaluate, repair, and maintain patient-care devices across facilities. You will work independently with minimal supervision and guide junior technicians.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in biomedical equipment maintenance, hospital experience preferred, and proficiency with diagnostic tools, documentation, and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.
• Experience in a hospital or healthcare facility setting preferred.
• CBET/ICC/IT-type certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs incoming inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and repairs on biomedical equipment within assigned timeframes.
• Documents all service activities and maintains up-to-date records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Oversees inventory of biomedical equipment, parts, and tools, ensuring supplies for timely repairs and maintenance.
• Assists with acquisition, installation, and integration of medical equipment as directed.
• Supports supervisor in project scheduling, cost estimation, and installation/remodel design.
• Provides training to hospital staff on operation, inspection, and maintenance of biomedical equipment.
• Develops and maintains written procedures for equipment operation and maintenance.
