Job summary

GE HealthCare in the Sarasota/Bradenton, FL area seeks a Biomedical Technician to respond to service calls, diagnose and repair biomedical equipment, and perform planned maintenance onsite. You will support our healthcare partners with timely, reliable service and maintain accurate documentation of all work performed.

This role requires after-hours availability, ability to lift up to 35 lbs, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/ Biomedical/ Mechanical Engineering or related field and a minimum 2 years of experience servicing medical equipment; OR equivalent military education and a minimum 2 years of experience servicing medical equipment; OR High School Diploma/GED and a minimum 4 years of experience servicing medical equipment.
• Knowledge of electronic digital circuitry and understanding of electronic and electro‑mechanical devices.
• Experience interpreting schematic diagrams.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

• Identify and report all customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization to ensure services are provided with the highest ethical standards.

Job Description Summary

As the Biomedical Technician, you will respond to service calls within a hospital or healthcare system in the Sarasota/Bradenton FL area. You will evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance on biomedical equipment, providing service excellence to drive customer satisfaction. This role requires the candidate to work onsite at our customer locations. To provide on-site customer support, the candidate needs to be willing to work in the Sarasota/Bradenton FL area.

Special Physical Requirements

• Ability to be available after‑hours and/or work a rotating on‑call schedule, including weekends.
