Job Description Summary

In this role, the Biomedical Technician Apprentice will respond to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, repair, and perform planned maintenance on basic biomedical equipment, ensuring customer satisfaction through Service Excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer biomedical equipment issues, implement repairs, perform planned maintenance, safety, and environmental inspections, and maintain effective customer relations following GEHC policies and hospital protocols.
  • Maintain communication with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, supporting business goals.
  • Assist experienced technicians and work as part of the local team to provide efficient service.
  • Document repair actions, manage parts inventory, and oversee vendor service delivery in compliance with policies.
  • Care for spares, tools, and test equipment, ensuring calibration and safety standards.
  • Meet health, safety, and environmental requirements and complete all required training.
  • Report any quality or compliance concerns immediately.
  • Comply with all relevant quality manuals, policies, laws, and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree (AS, BS, MS), military education, certificate, or current student with less than 12 months to graduate, or high school diploma/GED with 6 months experience servicing electronic, IT, or mechanical equipment.
  • Experience interpreting schematic diagrams and troubleshooting on diagnostic imaging or electronic equipment.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with schematic diagrams and maintenance of biomedical or electronic equipment.
  • Strong customer relations, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, or electronic devices.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs., bend, reach, and perform other physical tasks required by the role.
  • Candidates should not relocate more than 30 miles without approval. Local candidates preferred.

The salary range for U.S. positions is $40,000 - $60,000, based on skills and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k), insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
