The candidate will develop innovative, three-dimensional or disease-relevant models and lead collaborative efforts across disciplines.
Required qualifications include a terminal degree (PhD/MD/DO/MD-PhD) and a productive, peer‑reviewed scholarly record with strong funding potential.
Priority will be given to candidates whose work has clear translational relevance and creates opportunities for interdisciplinary team science. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, cancer biology, neuroscience, immunology, genetics and genomics, molecular and cellular biology, microbiology, infectious diseases, physiology, pathology, synthetic biology, biomedical engineering, advanced human-relevant cellular models, electrophysiology, and research technology development. Scientific excellence and translational potential are more important than a single disciplinary label.
This position is designed to strengthen CMED’s research enterprise. Especially compelling programs will bridge laboratory discovery and human health through one or more of the following:
CMED is committed to providing the conditions required for research success, including protected research effort, appropriate laboratory space, a competitive start‑up package, access to relevant equipment and shared resources, research administration, and support for trainees and personnel. Record of peer‑reviewed scholarship appropriate for the Assistant Professor academic rank. Evidence of rigorous and productive scholarship in translational or disease‑focused biomedical research. Coherent, innovative research agenda with strong potential for independent extramural funding. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in collaborative, interdisciplinary research environments. Demonstrated commitment to mentoring students, residents, clinicians, or other developing investigators.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have a history of current peer‑reviewed funding or documented trajectory toward competitive federal or equivalent external support. Expertise in three-dimensional cultures, spheroids, organoids, induced pluripotent stem cells, and other models that more closely reproduce human disease. Expertise in genetics/genomics, immunology, biomedical engineering, synthetic biology, computational approaches, electrophysiology, or novel technology development.
