Job summary

The Covenant HealthCare College of Medicine at Central Michigan University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in translational biomedical research. The successful candidate will establish an independent funded program linking basic biology with human disease, and contribute to CMED’s collaborative research community.

Priority will be given to candidates with translational potential across cancer biology, neuroscience, immunology, genetics, and related fields,

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, DO, MD/PhD, or equivalent terminal degree.
• Record of peer-reviewed scholarship suitable for Assistant Professor rank.
• Evidence of translational or disease-focused biomedical research.
• Coherent, innovative research agenda with potential for independent extramural funding.
• Commitment to mentoring, education, collegiality, and responsible conduct of research.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and sustain an independent externally funded research program.
• Connect fundamental biological discovery with improved understanding, prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of human disease.
• Bring broadly applicable methods, models, or technologies to CMED.
• Collaborate in interdisciplinary team science and translational projects.
