Job summary

West Virginia University’s Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute seeks a Biomedical Research Engineer to support biomedical, neuroscience, clinical research, and human-performance initiatives on an onsite basis.

You will contribute to research software, data-collection systems, and analytical workflows while collaborating with researchers, clinicians, and operations teams to ensure reliable, well-documented data processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of one year of experience in programming, data analysis, scientific computing, research technology, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain software used for cognitive, behavioral, physiological, and human-performance research.
• Support data collection involving sensors, physiological systems, motion-capture equipment, wearables and related technologies.
• Set up, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot software, hardware, and data-collection systems.
• Create scripts and automated workflows using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
• Support data pipelines for ingestion, processing, validation, analysis and reporting.
• Prepare analytical datasets, figures, dashboards, and recurring reports.
• Maintain technical documentation and training materials.
• Collaborate with researchers and staff to understand requirements and deliverables.
