Job summary

The City University of New York (CUNY) School of Medicine seeks a Research Data Librarian (Medical Assistant Professor) to provide expertise in data management, data-related scholarship, and evidence synthesis within the library’s research support team.

Reporting to the Chief Librarian, the librarian partners with faculty, researchers, staff and students to develop data management plans, promote open science, teach data literacy, and assist with systematic reviews and literature searches.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science or closely related discipline from an ALA-accredited institution; a second graduate degree is required.
• Experience conducting advanced literature searches in biomedical and health sciences databases.
• Knowledge of research data management principles and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to provide instruction and consultation services.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders in a research-intensive environment.

Responsibilities

• Consult with faculty, researchers, staff, and students on research data management best practices throughout the research lifecycle; assist researchers in developing data management and sharing plans for grant proposals and sponsored research projects.
