Job summary

UNT Health Fort Worth invites applications for a Research Assistant to support a NIH-funded project within the HSC-Pharmaceutical Sciences department. The position emphasizes hands-on laboratory work, data collection, and literature synthesis, with opportunity to advance toward PhD studies in the new department PhD program.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with strong organization, quantitative skills, and ability to work both independently and in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong project organization and management skills.
• Advanced training in quantitative research methods, and knowledge of targeted drug delivery.
• Ability to manage complex, high-risk research projects effectively, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to evolving project needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in polymer synthesis, nanoparticle fabrication, material and particle characterization, flow cytometry, LC–MS, confocal microscopy, and animal handling and/or surgery.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical procedures involved in execution of experiments (i.e. material synthesis, characterization, animal care / handling).
• Execute experiments independently, collect data and keep records of experiments, and keep up-to-date with the most recent literature in the field of study.
• Keep track of inventories of research materials.
• Write manuscripts and prepare materials for scientific presentations.
