Job summary

Hologic, Inc. in Marlborough, MA seeks a Product Development Engineer 2 to drive new product development from concept to production with strong technical judgment and a customer-centric design approach.

Responsibilities include design tasks, teamwork with suppliers and manufacturing, research, and documentation. Requires a Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering background and 2 years of relevant experience in healthcare; competitive salary with bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Strong functional and technical skills, problem solving skills and a drive for results.
• Progress from possessing limited knowledge to developing broad knowledge and skills in multiple practice areas.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques and criteria for moderately complex projects.
• Strong technical writing ability, able to author protocols and reports with moderate guidance.
• Experience with manufacturing processes (machining, injection molding, joining methods, rapid prototyping).
• Some experimental, computational, and analytical skills (DOE, Minitab).
• Understands tolerance stackups, DFM, and GD&T.
• Competent using CAD – SolidWorks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs simple to moderately complex design and project tasks.
• Interacts with project teams, suppliers, customers, contractors, and others.
• Performs research and investigations.
• Formulates and solves problems that require a moderate level of technical knowledge.
• Applies broad knowledge to solve moderately complex problems.
• Prepares project documents, including engineering reports and verification/validation documentation.
• Aids in builds and manufacturing transfer activities.
• Applies risk management tools across the product lifecycle.
