Qualifications

  • 5 years of IT/Biomedical/Cybersecurity experience in healthcare.
  • 3 years IT/Operations in healthcare IT or clinical tech.
  • 3 years Biomedical experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and travel to Banner facilities.
  • Experience with device hardening: firewall/configs, securing wireless.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain non-medical endpoint devices in various departments.
  • Build relationships with vendors, cybersecurity consultants, program leads, and system admins.
  • Coordinate medical device IT controls with owners; track remediation activities.
  • Collaborate with HTM professionals to deliver a robust medical device security program.
  • Use hardening guides to reduce the attack surface in device environments.
  • Collect and validate device and network attributes for inventory records.
  • Travel locally and to other markets to deploy device cyber controls and support responses.
  • Stay current with medical device security trends and best practices.

This role is integral to Banner Health's medical device security program, ensuring compliance and security of devices through collaboration with various stakeholders and the implementation of best practices in medical device security.CORE FUNCTIONS1. Support and maintain non-medical endpoint devices in various departments such as Facilities, Security, Pharmacy, Research, Lab, etc.2. Build stakeholder relationships with key vendors, Banner Health cybersecurity consultants, program leads, system administrators, application owners, and network strategy consultants.3. Partner with application owners to ensure medical device IT controls are compliant and functioning by tracking and reporting vulnerability remediation activities.4. Work with other Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) professionals to deliver a robust medical device security program.5. Utilize hardening guides to coordinate and execute controls to reduce the potential attack surface in the medical and non-medical device environment.6. Collect and validate device and network attributes to ensure complete and compliant device inventory records.7. Travel within the local market and other markets to deploy device cyber controls, perform device inventory management, and support cyber threat responses.8. Stay current with the latest medical device security trends and best practices.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAssociate's degree in Computer Science, Biomedical/Clinical Engineering or related field, or equivalent working knowledge is required.Must have 5 years of experience in IT, Biomedical Engineering, and/or Cybersecurity within a healthcare environment that includes: 3 years working in IT or Operations (experience with information technology related to workstations, networking, and clinical technologies) and 3 years of Biomedical experience.Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy. Must be able to travel to Banner facilities to provide onsite support.Experience placing device hardening controls such as firewall configurations, disabling ports/protocols/services/applications, and securing wireless communication.
