  • Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field or High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of progressive experience in medical imaging field.
  • 2 years progressive experience in performing direct component level repair and maintenance on general and model-specific equipment in the medical imaging field.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art electronic test equipment and QA procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Completes PM workload to maintain high PM compliance over time.
  • Performs safety checks, repairs, and installations of biomedical and communications equipment.
  • Identifies supplies and materials to service equipment at lowest cost.
  • Maintains technical literature, standards, and regulatory documentation.
  • Provides training on biomedical equipment and electrical safety.
  • Presents to peers on trends to keep staff updated.

Performs preventive maintenance, quality assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and general maintenance on one or more categories of specialized biomedical, imaging equipment, clinical data/network systems, and related technologies.Job DutiesCompletes the preventive maintenance (PM) workload to achieve a consistently high level of PM compliance over time.Provides safety checks, repairs, and installations of biomedical and communications equipment. 15%Identifies and obtains supplies and other materials required to service, maintain, and repair equipment at the lowest possible cost.Establishes and maintains supporting technical literature such as manufacturer’s literature, references standards, specifications, and other documents necessary for supporting the biomedical program.Ensures that the biomedical equipment is in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and quality control standards.Makes effective presentations to small groups of peers to ensure staff remains up to date on new trends.Provides in-service and training on biomedical equipment and electrical safety.Minimum QualificationsAssociate’s Degree Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields orHigh School Diploma/GED along with 5 years of progressive experience in performing direct component-level repair and maintenance on both general and model-specific equipment in the medical imaging field will be considered in lieu of degree.2 years progressive experience in performing direct component level repair and maintenance on both general and model-specific equipment in the medical imaging field.Knowledge of state-of-the-art electronic and test equipment, quality assurance procedures, and preventive maintenance procedures.Knowledge of source, use, and applications of alternative parts providers as related to electronic or electromechanical equipment.Knowledge of advanced troubleshooting techniques.Knowledge of computer software-based work order tracking systems.Ability to use vendor-supplied service documentation, technical manuals, and general electronics industry parts specification materials in order to test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair assigned equipment and related systems.Ability to work well in a team environment and to be self motivated and self disciplined.Effectively deals with multiple and changing priorities.Must be able to visit multiple business locations.
