Job summary

University Health’s Retama Hospital is seeking a Healthcare Engineering Specialist responsible for maintaining, testing and calibrating a broad range of medical equipment to support patient care.

You will troubleshoot, perform complex repairs, ensure compliance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory standards, and collaborate with nurses, physicians and vendors to keep equipment ready for clinical teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in biomedical engineering technology or a related field.
• Two years of related experience in a biomedical department or company.
• Knowledge of medical equipment management and applicable regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, calibrate, adjust, repair and test a broad range of medical equipment.
• Perform and document complex repairs and calibration services on patient care and support equipment.
• Ensure medical equipment is managed in accordance with applicable standards and regulations, including those of The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, including nurses, physicians and management, as well as ancillary departments, colleagues and outside vendors.
• Follow University Health, departmental and section policies and procedures.
