What will you be doing in this role:
The BMET I performs repair, preventive maintenance, and calibration of medical equipment. Under close supervision, troubleshoots basic electronic circuits; evaluates and resolves operational problems involving medical equipment at the request of clinical staff and department management; completes and records all required maintenance documentation; serves in on-call rotation.
Experience Requirements:
At least 6 months of experience as a biomedical electronics technician and familiarity with a range of patient care and/or laboratory equipment (preferred).
Knowledge of wired and wireless networks related to medical devices.
Ability to understand and use basic biomedical test equipment.
Basic electronics knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
Understanding of operation and service routines for basic clinical electronic equipment.
Educational/Certificate Requirements:
Biomedical Technology Diploma from an accredited program is required.
C.B.E.T. certification and/or specialized biomedical skills such as Imaging or Anesthesia equipment are preferred.
Associate or Bachelor Degree in Electronic/Biomedical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
