Job summary

Beacon Health Options is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to join our Biomedical Engineering team. This hands-on role maintains, troubleshoots, tests, and calibrates a wide range of biomedical and medical equipment to support patient care.

Under supervision, you will perform preventive maintenance, assist with equipment installation, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance, with potential apprenticeship pathways for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
• CBET certification preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience repairing and maintaining biomedical or medical equipment expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on biomedical and patient care equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, test, and calibrate medical equipment and related systems.
• Use testing equipment to verify equipment safety, functionality, and performance.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, service requests, labor, and materials.
• Assist with installation and setup of newly purchased medical equipment.
