Role Summary

The Biomedical Equipment Technician 1 performs skilled technical work in repairing and maintaining electronic, electromechanical, pneumatic, and mechanical medical equipment used in patient care, ensuring all services are well documented.

Responsibilities
  • Test, repair, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance on complex medical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electronic circuits at the component level.
  • Read and interpret schematic diagrams, service manuals, and wiring sketches in both English and Metric systems.
  • Utilize various test instruments for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Use hand tools effectively and recognize occupational hazards, observing safety precautions.
  • Operate general machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders.
  • Document all work performed accurately and maintain equipment records.
  • Demonstrate service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Expertise).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including travel between facilities as needed.
