CME Corp is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to join our growing Biomedical Services team. As a field-based technician, you'll support healthcare providers throughout the Southeast by installing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing a wide variety of biomedical equipment.

This position offers the opportunity to work independently in the field while receiving the training, resources, and support needed to build a successful career in biomedical equipment service.

Location & Territory

This is a field-based position supporting healthcare customers throughout a multi-state Southeast territory. The technician will provide service primarily throughout Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana, with occasional travel outside of the primary territory based on customer and business needs.

Approximately 75% of the technician's time will involve customer locations within a four-hour driving radius of Atlanta, GA. Other assignments may require longer-distance travel and overnight stays depending on customer location and service needs.

Travel occurs primarily Monday through Friday, although travel schedules may vary based on customer needs and location. Depending on the service schedule, travel may take place during morning or evening hours. A company vehicle is provided for this position.

This is a highly independent field position. Technicians are responsible for staying organized and effectively managing their service assignments, travel, documentation, and changing priorities with limited day-to-day oversight.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety inspections in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and regulatory requirements.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Complete accurate service documentation, work orders, and required reports.
  • Communicate repair status, equipment needs, and customer concerns with customers and internal team members.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and customer training as needed.
  • Stay current on new technologies, manufacturer recommendations, and industry best practices.
  • Follow all company safety policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Biomedical Equipment Technology, or a related technical field, military BMET training, or equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

  • Experience using diagnostic and calibration equipment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work independently in a field service environment.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous biomedical equipment service experience.
  • CBET certification or interest in pursuing certification.
  • Experience working in healthcare environments.

This is a full-time field service position supporting customer locations throughout the assigned territory.

Most technicians work daytime hours, with start times typically between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. and end times between 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., depending on customer schedules. Occasional overtime or schedule adjustments may be necessary to support customer needs.

Technicians should be comfortable working independently, traveling throughout the assigned territory, and working in hospitals, healthcare facilities, and other customer locations.

Physical requirements include lifting, moving, and transporting biomedical equipment and tools. Candidates must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
