Job summary

Kaleida Health is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician I to join the KH Biomed Engineering team. Responsibilities include installation, calibration, maintenance and repair of patient care equipment under supervision, with adherence to OEM instructions and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/AA in Biomedical Technology or related field preferred; strong calibration and maintenance skills.
• Experience: 1 year in Biomedical Equipment Technician role or internship preferred.
• Regular inspection and servicing of medical devices including imaging systems, monitors and pumps.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, calibrate, verify, and repair patient care equipment under supervision.
• Follow OEM guidelines and hospital policies; document activities.
• Assist with equipment management and reporting as required.

• 4:00 PMShift 1 Job DescriptionA Biomedical Equipment Technician I (BMET I) maintains patient care equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan. The employee performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration verification, and repair of a limited scope of patient care equipment under the guidance and direct observation of experienced Clinical Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) professionals. The employee plans and carries out successive steps and resolves problems and deviations in accordance with the equipment manufacturers instructions, the healthcare systems policies, and accepted practices. The Supervisor reviews the work for adequacy and conformance with practice and policy.
• Associate of Applied Science Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical Technology or; Equivalent Military experience in Biomedical Engineering or Electronics required or In lieu of a degree, 3 years working directly with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifically servicing biomedical equipment. Experience must include regular inspection, servicing, calibration, and upkeep of medical devices (e.g., imaging systems, patient monitors, and infusion pumps). Or; A combination of relevant internal organizational experience and the experience outlined above to total a minimum of 3 years.
