Job summary

Kaleida Health seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician I at Buffalo General Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. The BMET I maintains patient care devices under supervision, performing installation, calibration, verification and repair of selected equipment in line with MEMP and department policies.

The ideal candidate has an AAS or equivalent, plus credentials (CBET, CompTIA A+, Net+). Military experience preferred. Onsite, full-time, with standard daytime hours and bi-weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Electronic certification from an accredited program and/or military certification required; ICC/AAMI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient care equipment per the Medical Equipment Management Plan.
• Install, maintain, calibrate verification, and repair a limited scope of patient care equipment under supervision.
• Follow manufacturers' instructions, healthcare policies, and accepted practices; supervisor reviews work for adequacy.

The employee performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration verification, and repair of a limited scope of patient care equipment under the guidance and direct observation of experienced Clinical Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) professionals. The employee plans and carries out successive steps and resolves problems and deviations in accordance with the equipment manufacturers instructions, the healthcare systems policies, and accepted practices. • Associate of Applied Science or Equalivlant Military Experience required. AAS
