Job summary

Agiliti is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to manage budgets, supervise staff, and deliver hands-on maintenance, calibration and QA for clinical equipment in Detroit and surrounding locations.

The role requires a two-year degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology, 3+ years in the field, and CBET certification preferred. Strong knowledge of electronics, anatomy/physiology, and safety testing is essential, with on-call rotation as needed.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in biomedical equipment field.
• CBET certification preferred by International Certification Commission.
• Knowledge of anatomy/physiology related to clinical equipment.
• Ability to read circuit diagrams and mechanical schematics.
• Familiarity with regulatory policies for clinical equipment.
• Familiarity with test equipment setup (safety analyzers, DMM, simulators).
• Willingness to work flexible hours to support business needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage budgets to ensure efficient operations.
• Supervise biomedical personnel.
• Provide technical training on equipment operation, maintenance, calibration and QA.
• Evaluate equipment and ensure electrical/functional conformance to standards.
• Perform maintenance, repairs and calibration of medical equipment.
• Assist with hazard identification and medical device reporting.
• Instruct customer personnel on safe equipment operation.
• Maintain inventory and records; participate in on-call rotations.
• Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Education

Associate degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology

CBET certification (preferred)

Three years biomedical equipment experience

Knowledge of anatomy and physiology in clinical equipment

Reading circuit diagrams & mechanical schematics

Tools
