Job summary

Agiliti is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to manage budgets, supervise staff, and deliver hands-on maintenance, calibration and QA for clinical equipment in Detroit and surrounding locations.

The role requires a two-year degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology, 3+ years in the field, and CBET certification preferred. Strong knowledge of electronics, anatomy/physiology, and safety testing is essential, with on-call rotation as needed.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in biomedical equipment field.
• CBET certification preferred by International Certification Commission.
• Knowledge of anatomy/physiology related to clinical equipment.
• Ability to read circuit diagrams and mechanical schematics.
• Familiarity with regulatory policies for clinical equipment.
• Familiarity with test equipment setup (safety analyzers, DMM, simulators).
• Willingness to work flexible hours to support business needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage budgets to ensure efficient operations.

• Perform maintenance, repairs and calibration of medical equipment.

• Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Education

Associate degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology

CBET certification (preferred)

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• A two‑year associate degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology or an equivalent technical program.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in the biomedical equipment field.
• Certification by the International Certification Commission as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and its relation to the diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring characteristics of clinical equipment.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic and mechanical technology, including reading circuit diagrams and mechanical schematics.
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory agencies and the policies, codes, standards, and regulations that apply to the clinical equipment in the area.
• Familiarity with the setup and application of all test equipment (electrical safety analyzer, digital multi‑meter, patient simulator, etc.).
• Understanding of quality indicators.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to support business needs.
