Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Berkeley's Biomedical Engineering team seeks a Biomedical Engineer who plans, trains others, and installs, maintains and repairs sophisticated medical equipment used to diagnose, treat and monitor patients.

Under supervision you will perform repairs, installations, inspections, electrical safety tests and documentation; travel to service other sites; attend training; and participate in on-call rotations, including occasional afterhours work.

Qualifications

• GED required.
• Formal OEM training with minimum four years service experience on Siemens, GE or Philips Gamma Cameras, Spect CT and/or PET systems.
• Must be proficient with Windows operating systems and general PC use.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs of biomedical equipment and medical systems under supervision.
• Perform installation and de-installation of related equipment as needed.
• Conduct inspections and electrical safety tests to maintain code compliance.
• Document results of inspections, maintenance and tests in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with other biomedical engineers and OEM representatives.
