Job summary

Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Inc. in Austin, TX seeks a Biomedical Equipment Engineer to maintain and repair medical laboratory equipment and related systems.

You will provide technical support, manage preventative maintenance, and ensure regulatory compliance within the lab environment. The role requires a strong foundation in biomedical, electronic, and mechanical engineering, plus the ability to coordinate vendor services and maintain accurate service records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years biomedical engineering experience in hospital, clinical, or commercial lab environments.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain medical laboratory equipment using electronic, mechanical, and technical principles.
  • Perform and oversee preventative maintenance, equipment installations, inspections, special projects, and other scheduled services.
  • Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers for contracted maintenance and repairs, ensuring work meets manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain accurate equipment inventory, preventative maintenance schedules, and service records within the service management system.
  • Generate and review equipment, quality assurance, preventative maintenance, inventory, and service reports.
  • Partner with laboratory teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve equipment issues and minimize operational disruption.
