An established industry player is seeking a dedicated leader to oversee the Information Services Biomedical Engineering group. POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs and coordinates the planning, production, and functions of the Information Services Biomedical Engineering group and processes. Maintains electronic data processing and critical patient care biomedical equipment. Responsible for developing advanced procedures to ensure the organization can respond to disasters, enabling critical business functions to resume within a defined timeframe and minimizing losses. Participates in actual recovery efforts. Promotes the University Health System Customer Relations policy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field plus eight (8) years of information systems experience, with at least four (4) years in a supervisory role overseeing programming or technical support staff. Alternatively, eight (8) years of related experience with four (4) years in a supervisory capacity or technical support role. Additionally, four years of leadership experience in Biomedical Engineering are required. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to Biomedical, Texas records retention laws, and strong systems knowledge are essential. System analysis experience and project management skills are preferred. Experience across multiple vendor and platform environments is preferred. Knowledge of healthcare automated systems is also preferred.
