Job summary

The incumbent serves as a Staff Biomedical Engineer in the Major Projects Service at the Marion, IL VAMC, overseeing planning, design, and integration of medical equipment for the John Cochran Major Construction program.

The role includes advising on biomedical engineering practices, supporting clinical technology, analyzing equipment data, and ensuring safe, efficient patient care through system implementation and contractor oversight.

Responsibilities

• Manages the planning, design, acquisition, and integration of medical equipment and clinical systems as part of the Major Construction program.
• Oversees activation of space, clinics, and Major Project requirements through project leadership.
• Maintains, supports, and implements a Healthcare Technology Management Program meeting regulatory requirements.
• Provides engineering guidance as a biomedical engineering subject matter expert in the Major Projects Service.
• Supports clinical technology including service, system administration, training, and quality assurance.
