Job description

Scope of Position

The Sigma Asset Management Group (SAM) department is responsible for ensuring that the patient care instrumentation used within regional hospitals contracted by the Medical Center is safe and effective. This includes all aspects of medical equipment asset management, such as systems planning, pre-purchase assessment, acquisition, installation, functional verification, integration into the clinical environment, routine maintenance, corrective maintenance, and scheduled updates. The SAM department collaborates closely with clinicians to identify and resolve issues related to medical systems applications. Additionally, OBS staff work with regional hospital administration, finance, procurement, Facilities Services, and Information Technology to optimize system compatibility and value.

Position Summary

Provides and documents preventive, interval-based, and corrective maintenance on biomedical equipment without supervision. Responsibilities include installing, calibrating, repairing, and inspecting medical equipment, diagnosing and solving moderately complex problems, participating in equipment evaluations and installations, and overseeing the Clinical Engineering Database.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Position located in Sidney, Ohio
  • High School diploma or GED; certification or vocational training may be preferred
  • 1 year of relevant experience required; 2-4 years preferred
  • Associates Degree or equivalent Military experience preferred
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and physics preferred
  • Experience with business software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project) and Adobe preferred
  • Experience, training, and/or certification in process improvement preferred
