Harborview Medical Center – Clinical Engineering has an outstanding opportunity for full-time (100% FTE, 40 hours a week), day shift, Biomedical Electronics Technician 2.

Position Highlights

The Biomedical Electronics Technician 2 performs journey-level biomedical electronics work troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, installing, constructing and testing analog and/or digital electronic equipment used in patient care, life support, and clinical laboratory areas. Work from schematic diagrams, blueprints, service documentation, safety codes, and verbal instructions.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect medical equipment and instrumentation, including life-support equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.
  • Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections, and repairs.
  • Assist with and evaluate third-party repairs.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to personnel.
  • Review preventive maintenance outcomes and suggest improvements.
  • Mentor other biomedical electronics technicians.
  • Assist senior technicians or supervisors with educational programs.
Required Qualifications
  • An Associate's Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Equipment Technology or related field AND two years of experience in medical equipment repair in a hospital setting OR equivalent education/experience.
