Job summary

Cedars-Sinai's Ajami Lab in Los Angeles invites applications for a Research Associate Data Scientist. You will support biomedical research by applying programming, data mining, statistics, machine learning, and visualization to move models from data exploration toward deployment-ready solutions.

Location is onsite in Los Angeles with compensation ranging from USD 79,913 to 135,844 per year. Collaborate with researchers and PIs to translate data insights into actionable biomedical questions and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/ML/Applied Math/Bioimaging/Statistics/Engineering/Physics or related field (required).
Master's degree in related fields preferred.
Up to two years of professional healthcare or pharmaceutical experience with biomedical data.
Intermediate programming in R or Python (college projects acceptable).
SQL experience at basic to intermediate level.
Experience in biomedical machine learning preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with development and evaluation of computational methods including AI/ML to analyze biomedical data.
Present results at lab meetings, conferences, and publications.
Build database-to-deployment model pipelines using R, Python, SQL, and neo4j.
Create sustainable data science infrastructure and follow standards.
Perform data cleaning, QC, and exploratory analysis to judge method applicability.
Collaborate with researchers and PIs to identify data science contributions.
