Job summary

UTHealth Houston and Children's Learning Institute invite applications for a Scientific Programmer II. This role supports TECPDS and the Texas Infant-Toddler Specialist Network with data integration, reporting, and BI initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering and at least three years of relevant research experience, with strong skills in ETL/ELT, data modeling, dashboards, and data quality assurance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering required.
  • 3 years of relevant research experience or equivalent required.
  • Experience with data integration, transformation, and BI/analytics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Applies experience in biomedical sciences or engineering to define requirements for specialized programs.
  • Designs and develops programs and applications in a research setting, mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Defines program requirements with stakeholders and translates them into technical specifications.
  • Codes moderate to complex programs and performs unit testing and integration testing.
  • Prepares documentation and follows procedures for production implementations.
  • Maintains and updates existing programs and systems, adhering to standards.
