Innovative Element is seeking a Biomedical Engineer/Scientist to join Wright-Patterson AFB operations. The role focuses on developing custom software for live-streaming biomedical data, validating data processing, and building data ecosystems.

You will manage software licenses, translate research objectives into software, and ensure clear communication of issues with corrective actions to support research projects. US citizenship and in-person work at Wright-Patterson AFB are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science with 4+ years of relevant experience; or
• Master's with 2+ years; or
• Ph.D. in engineering or computer science.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom software for live-streaming data, biomedical processing, and data visualization.
• Manage/maintain software licenses (MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, JMP, etc.).
• Translate research objectives into effective software solutions through thorough analysis.
• Ensure problems are clearly defined and corrective actions are implemented to support projects.
• Demonstrate independent work, attention to detail, and strong communication.
• Contribute to statistical analysis and development of algorithms for biomechanics, physiology, engineering and physics.
• Build, test, optimize, and maintain data ecosystems.
• Document software/hardware development per specifications (FDRs, SDDs, use cases, topologies, tests, deployment).

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Biomedical Engineer/Scientist to join our team.

The purpose of this requirement is to provide support services for the 711th Human Performance Wing Operational Consultation Support Biomedical Engineer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Responsibilities

1. Developing custom software applications for live-streaming data, biomedical data processing, data visualization, and other custom software applications for both new capabilities and enhancement of existing capabilities.
2. Managing/maintaining software licenses within the research laboratory (e.g., MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, JMP, TEMA, etc.).
3. Performing in-depth system analysis of research project objectives and processes in order to accurately translate them into the best software solution.
4. Ensuring discovered problems are clearly defined and communicated; and the necessary corrective actions are employed and/or risk is mitigated to support research project(s) execution.
5. Ability to work independently, have strong attention to detail, have strong English skills, good organizational skills, initiative in performing assigned tasks, and the ability to follow-up complex projects.
6. Participating in statistical analysis and development of mathematical algorithms to solve problems in: behavioral sciences, human physiology, engineering and physics; this includes development of algorithms for multi-body kinematics, nonlinear analyses, etc.
7. Experience with the planning, building, testing, optimization, and maintenance of data ecosystems.
8. Experience with MATLAB, Python, TensorFlow, LabView, SQL.
9. Experience with writing technical documentation based upon customer specifications for both software and hardware development. This includes, but is not limited to Functional Requirements Documents, System Design Documents, use cases, system topologies, Test plans, Deployment Plans, and training material.
10. Experience in working in a research laboratory environment and have strong communication skills.

Mandatory Skills

Candidate shall possess one of the following minimum education requirements and years’ experience:

1. a Bachelors degree in engineering or computer science or similar area of study, with a minimum 4 years of relevant experience or;
2. Masters in engineering or computer science or similar area of study, with a minimum 2 years of relevant experience or
3. Ph.D. in engineering or computer science or similar area of study.

1. Candidate shall have demonstrated software development skills and experience with designing and/or implementing network protocols, OpenGL or DirectX experience and interfacing with external devices (input devices and/or measurement devices).
2. Candidate shall have experience with the planning, building, testing, optimization, and maintenance of data ecosystems.
3. Candidate shall have experience with MATLAB, Python, TensorFlow, LabView, SQL.
4. Candidate shall have experience with writing technical documentation based upon customer specifications for both software and hardware development. This includes, but is not limited to Functional Requirements Documents, System Design Documents, use cases, system topologies, Test plans, Deployment Plans, and training material.
5. Candidate shall have experience in working in a research laboratory environment and have strong communication skills.
6. Candidate shall have experience in providing direction and supervising other members of technical staff (mid-level, junior engineers/computer scientists).
7. Must be US Citizen.
