Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Biomedical Technician in New York to clean and disinfect returned equipment, maintain the cleaning room, perform basic testing and repairs, and complete annual mandatory education. You will report to the Biomed Manager and collaborate with the Biomed Lead as needed.

Responsibilities include documenting maintenance activities, managing cleaning supplies, and ensuring safe handling of equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience in equipment repair.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance on returned equipment.
  • Clean and disinfect equipment per policy.
  • Document cleaning and routine maintenance as defined by guidelines.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes to stock of cleaning supplies.
  • Ensure timely, quality, and prioritized cleaning and disinfecting of equipment.
  • Follow proper procedures to reduce risk of accidents, injuries, and complaints.
  • Perform general equipment repairs as needed.
  • Maintain pressure washer and air compressor; report issues to management.
  • Launder soiled rags, bags, slings, etc.
  • Ensure equipment from the prior day is cleaned by end of day.
  • Report unsafe conditions related to returned equipment.
  • Adhere to PPE, infection control and hazardous materials handling policies.
  • Fill compressed oxygen cylinders and liquid oxygen stationeries per policy.
  • Assist other Materials Management staff with Biomed duties when approved.

Description

Biomedical Technician

The Biomedical Technician is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting returned equipment; cleaning room maintenance—including maintaining a neat and orderly work area; some equipment testing and repair; and maintaining annual mandatory education. Willingly takes direction from the Biomed Manager and Biomed Lead —in the absence of the Biomed Manager.

Job Duties:
  • Responsible for conducting routine maintenance per guidelines on returned equipment.
  • Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting equipment per policy.
  • Responsible for documenting cleaning and routine maintenance as defined by guidelines.
  • Evaluates and recommends changes to our standard cleaning supply inventory.
  • Responsible for the timeliness, quality, and prioritization of equipment cleaning and disinfecting.
  • Follows proper procedures to reduce the risk of accidents, injuries, and complaints.
  • Responsible for conducting equipment repairs (general).
  • Responsible for maintaining the pressure washer and air compressor and notifying the manager in case of breakdown or need for repairs, supplies, or replacement.
  • Responsible for laundering soiled rags, bags, slings, etc.
  • Generally, equipment returned to the dirty area from previous day and stock truck run should be cleaned by the end of each day
  • Reports unsafe conditions associated with returned equipment.
  • Identifies contaminated equipment and adheres to the Personal Protective Equipment company policy.
  • Retain knowledge of and consistently adhere to procedures for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control and hazardous materials handling.
  • Fills compressed oxygen cylinders per company policy.
  • Fills liquid oxygen stationeries and liquid oxygen delivery vehicle per company policy.
  • Understands the responsibilities and duties of other Materials Management Department Employees and willingly helps outside the Biomed Department with prior approval of the Biomed Manager.

  • Accurately receive, stock, retrieve and load equipment and supplies.

Requirements
Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • One (1) year experience in equipment repair
