Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelors in biomedical electronics or equivalent training/experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing biomedical equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical safety codes and standards related to biomed equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, calibrate, install, maintain, and repair clinical equipment.
• Work with users to resolve issues and communicate equipment status.
• Keep a clean, organized workspace and complete work records.
• Assist the manager with equipment replacement recommendations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Biomedical equipment technician duties include inspection, calibration, installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of clinical equipment.
• Works with equipment users for the best resolution of issues and communicates equipment status.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area. Keeps complete records of work done.
• Assists the manager with equipment replacement recommendations. Other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

• Associate or Bachelors degree in biomedical electronics or related, or a combination of relevant training and experience.

Skills/Other

• Experience in troubleshooting and repair of a wide variety of biomedical equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and the applicable codes and standards that related to biomed¬ical equipment and environments.
• Demonstrable skill in applying electric/electronic circuit theory and operating principles to effectively diagnose biomedical equipment malfunctions.
• Demonstrable skill in properly using advanced electronic test equipment.
• Knowledge of the theories of operation, the underlying physio¬logic principles, and the practical, safe clinical application of biomedical equipment.
• Knowledge of basic computer theory and skill in effectively using computer systems and applications.
• Skill in the use of tools and materials involved in the repair and maintenance of biomedical and/or data equipment.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification by the International Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Equipment Technicians (preferred).
