Job summary

Kettering Health Network is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to perform inspection, calibration, installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of clinical equipment. You will work with equipment users to resolve issues and document equipment status.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean, organized work area, keeping complete records, and assisting the manager with equipment replacement recommendations in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in troubleshooting and repair of a wide variety of biomedical equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and applicable codes and standards for biomedical equipment.
• Ability to apply circuit theory and operating principles to diagnose equipment malfunctions.
• Skill in using advanced electronic test equipment.
• Knowledge of biomedical equipment operation principles and clinical applications.
• Knowledge of basic computer theory and ability to use computer systems and applications.
• Proficiency with tools and materials used in repair and maintenance of biomedical/data equipment.

Educational Requirements

• Associate or Bachelors degree in biomedical electronics or related, or a combination of relevant training and experience.

Skills/Other

• Demonstrable skill in applying electric/electronic circuit theory and operating principles to effectively diagnose biomedical equipment malfunctions.
• Demonstrable skill in properly using advanced electronic test equipment.
• Knowledge of the theories of operation, the underlying physio¬logic principles, and the practical, safe clinical application of biomedical equipment.
• Knowledge of basic computer theory and skill in effectively using computer systems and applications.
• Skill in the use of tools and materials involved in the repair and maintenance of biomedical and/or data equipment.
