Job summary

Tenet Healthcare's Delray Medical Center in Florida seeks a capable Biomedical Engineering leader to guide the department, oversee maintenance and testing of hospital equipment, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role emphasizes patient safety and operational reliability.

As the supervisor, you will lead a team, coordinate with Plant Operations and senior management, and drive performance improvement while maintaining high standards of infection control and patient care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.
  • 4–6 years’ experience as a Biomedical Engineer in a healthcare setting.
  • Expertise in Electronic Engineering; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reports for scheduled shift on time and prepared to assume responsibilities.
  • Attends and participates in meetings and is responsible for all information communicated at meetings.
  • Adheres to Corporate, Regional, hospital and departmental policy and procedure 100% of the time.
  • Assists all patients, family members, physicians, visitors and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Follows Infection Control procedures at all times.
  • Adheres to the following environment of care standards.
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt to varied age‑specific patient populations.

Job Summary

Assists in managing the Biomedical Engineering department including maintenance, service, upkeep, repair, testing and preventative maintenance of Hospital biomedical equipment, along with required documentation to ensure compliance for State and Joint Commision inspections. Performs additional duties as requested by Plant Operations management team or Senior Management.

EDUCATION:
Minimum: Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

EXPERIENCE:
Four (4) to six (6) years’ experience as a Biomedical Engineer. Prior experience in a healthcare setting.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
None required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Expertise in Electronic Engineering. Supervisory experience preferred.
