Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician to install, maintain, and repair diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices. You will support technicians and operators, ensuring equipment is safe and functional.

Responsibilities include maintaining device performance, adhering to safety standards, and participating in disaster and emergency operations as needed. Applicants should have an electronics background and be able to obtain AHCA clearance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics (biomedical preferred) or equivalent military electronics training.
• Experience in electronic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting; computer skills (Windows).
• Ability to work flexible schedules including shifts or weekends; able to obtain AHCA level 2 clearance.

Biomedical Engineering Service

Job Summary

Adheres to established service standards and for reinforcing service standards with all employees. Performs simple to moderately complex technical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices. Provides assistance to technicians and operators of medical devices. Participates in disaster, fire, and other emergencies; observes all hospital safety practices and regulations.

Required Qualifications

• - Require an associate degree in electronics (preferably biomedical) or equivalent military electronics training (preferably biomedical).
• - Require previous electronic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting experience, as well as, computer experience (Windows operating system and applications as necessary).
• - Require schedule flexibility with the ability to work shift work or weekends as required.
• - Require the ability to obtain a level 2 AHCA clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• - Prefer one (1) year of experience or successful completion of an internship, as well as, demonstrated broad experience with microcomputer systems and software, client server concepts, local and wide area network concepts, and repair of diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices.
• - Prefer proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• - Prefer proficiency in the use of test equipment and tools pertinent to the field.
• - Prefer the ability to work with minimal supervision.
