Job summary

The University of Minnesota School of Kinesiology invites applications for a tenure‑track or tenured Assistant/Associate Professor in biomechanics and neuromotor control. The candidate will lead a nationally recognized program, teach and mentor diverse students, and collaborate across centers and departments to advance human movement science.

The position is 9‑month, full‑time on the Minneapolis campus with a start targeted for August 30, 2027, and offers strong opportunities for collaboration

Qualifications

• PhD in Kinesiology or closely related field with biomechanics/neuromotor focus.
• Strong publication and research record in biomechanics/neuromotor control.
• National and international scholarly reputation in biomechanics/neuromotor control.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness for graduate/undergraduate instruction.

Responsibilities

• Establishing and maintaining a nationally and internationally recognized independent research program in area of expertise.
• Securing internal and external funding for research agenda related to area of expertise.
• Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and developing curriculum in biomechanics and neuromotor control and more broadly kinesiology.
• Recruiting, supervising, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in biomechanics and neuromotor control.
• Disseminating research through publications and presentations in the scientific community.
• Providing service to the school, university, community, and profession.
