Exponent seeks a Biomechanics Associate in Philadelphia, PA, to join our biomechanics practice. You will work on human injury analyses within a multidisciplinary team to analyze data on kinematics and injury mechanisms and to communicate findings effectively.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD in Biomechanics or related field, are authorized to work in the U.S., and bring strong writing and leadership skills to support project execution and client communications.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Biomechanics, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship required.
  • Experience in technical analyses of injuries from incidents involving motor vehicles, industrial equipment, or consumer products is a plus.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to interact with diverse professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Execute biomechanics projects related to human injury analyses.
  • Analyze and synthesize technical biomechanical data (kinematics, dynamics, injury mechanisms, human tolerance).
  • Use analytical tools to derive findings and recommendations.
  • Clearly communicate findings via written reports and oral presentations.
  • Manage projects with cost-control measures.
  • Assist in research, publishing reports and papers, and presenting findings at meetings.

Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Biomechanics Associate for our Biomechanics Practice in Philadelphia, PA. In this role, you will work as part of a team executing biomechanics projects related to human injury analyses.

You will be responsible for
  • Executing biomechanics projects related to human injury analyses
  • Analyzing and synthesizing technical biomechanical data involving kinematics, dynamics, mechanisms of injury, and human tolerance
  • Using analytical tools
  • Clearly communicating findings via written reports and verbal means
  • Managing projects with effective cost-control measures
  • Assisting in conducting research, publishing reports, and papers in technical journals, and presenting findings at meetings and conferences
  • Actively participating in our Biomechanics Practice and assisting in marketing the group's technical capabilities to clients and the scientific community
You will have the following skills and qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Biomechanics, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship or processing required
  • Experience conducting technical analyses concerning the causation of physical injuries resulting from incidents involving motor vehicles, industrial equipment, and/or consumer products (or other related experience and research) is a plus
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Effective leadership skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of professionals, including managers, engineers, attorneys, and administrative staff

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.

The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.
