Job summary

Hyalex Orthopaedics, a venture-funded medical device start-up in Lexington, MA, seeks a Lab Technician to support biomimetic cartilage implant development. The role involves hands-on manufacturing in office, R&D labs, and ISO 7 cleanroom settings, with data documentation and collaboration with engineering.

The position is full-time, onsite in Lexington, MA, with typical hours 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, and occasional off-hours based on project needs. Candidates should be prepared to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or technical equivalent with experience in manufacturing environments.
• Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred.
• Familiar with chemical handling, cleanroom processes, and precision assembly.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 and cGMP is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and data recording.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, assemble, and test chemical mixtures and mechanical components per SOPs.
• Maintain compliance with QMS and cGMP standards.
• Interpret process documentation, drawings, and inspection criteria.
• Record data accurately in spreadsheets/databases for traceability.
• Support experiments and collaborate with engineering teams.
• Maintain safety protocols and proper PPE usage; handle chemical waste.
