NAES Corporation is seeking an Operations Manager for Altavista Power Station, a 51 MW biomass facility near Lynchburg, VA. You will lead daily operations, oversee budgets, staffing, and fuel management to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient generation of renewable electricity.

The role emphasizes driving plant performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in collaboration with Maintenance and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Progressive supervisory or management experience in power plant operations.
• Knowledge of biomass power generation systems and plant operations.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Operations Team to safe, reliable, and efficient biomass facility operation.
• Develop and manage the operations budget to support asset performance.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and shift coverage for continuous operation and on-call support.
• Direct biomass fuel receiving, storage, quality assurance, inventory, and yard operations.
• Analyze operating data and boiler performance to improve generation and reduce costs.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to set priorities and outages and improve reliability.
