Job summary

NAES Corporation is seeking an Auxiliary Operator for the Plainfield Renewable Energy biomass plant in Plainfield, CT. The role involves participating in start-up, shutdown, and routine operation of plant systems to ensure safe, clean, and efficient performance.

You will monitor fuel conveyors, ash handling, boilers, and emissions controls, perform inspections and minor maintenance, and maintain accurate logs and shift reports while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• An associate degree or certification in Power Plant Technology is preferred.
• Experience in biomass or thermal power generation operations.
• Ability to read piping and instrumentation diagrams.
• Valid U.S. driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with start-up, shutdown, and routine operations of biomass plant systems.
• Operate and monitor biomass fuel conveyors and feed systems.
• Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and performance tests.
• Follow safety protocols including lockout/tagout.
• Maintain operating logs and shift reports.
• Utilize CMMS to document work and plan maintenance.
• Report abnormal conditions to Control Room Operator.
• Support with maintenance activities and equipment troubleshooting.
