Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomarker QA Expert to join our team and take ownership of quality assurance (QA) for biomarker onboarding processes and front-end integrations. This role requires a strong background in bioinformatics, biomarker data management, and QA methodologies, with a hands-on approach to validating complex clinical and research data pipelines.

The ideal candidate will be deeply familiar with biomarker datasets, QA processes, and front-end/backend validation, and have a track record of applying rigorous manual QA techniques while also driving automation efforts. Experience with data governance, clinical research workflows, and familiarity with visualization tools like Power BI is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the QA strategy for biomarker onboarding, front-end workflows, and data pipelines.
  • Perform detailed manual QA to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and integrity across biomarker datasets.
  • Create and maintain robust QA methodologies tailored to bioinformatics and clinical research data environments.
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for UI, API, and database validation (SQL/PLSQL).
  • Validate end-to-end data flows from data ingestion to front-end visualization tools, ensuring consistency and reliability.
  • Lead efforts to automate testing processes where appropriate, enhancing test coverage and efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with bioinformatics, data operations, and analytics teams to ensure alignment on data quality standards.
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and QA issues related to clinical trial, biomarker, and patient-level data.
  • Maintain strong documentation for QA processes, findings, and performance metrics.
  • Utilize tools like Power BI or other analytics platforms for QA reporting and dashboards (preferred but not required).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • 10+ years of QA experience, with 2+ years specifically in biomarker or bioinformatics QA.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial data, biomarker datasets, and healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
  • Experience with manual testing, SQL/PLSQL scripting, front-end QA, and API validation.
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and CI/CD practices (Selenium, JUnit, etc. is a plus).
  • Solid understanding of data integrity, ACID principles, and regulatory compliance (GxP, HIPAA).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
