The Biomagnetic Imaging Technologist will support and coordinate clinical and research studies at UCSF's Biomagnetic Imaging Lab (BIL). Responsibilities include performing assessments related to brain conditions such as tumors, epilepsy, dementias, schizophrenia, voice disorders, and hearing impairments. Under supervision, incumbents will perform magnetoencephalography exams, including resting-state, evoked-potential, and event-related assessments, and may also conduct TMS and psychophysical testing.
Key duties involve preparing and positioning patients, applying electrodes and sensors, setting up equipment, calibrating devices, interpreting graphic outputs, observing patients, documenting procedures, and ensuring safety protocols. The role requires monitoring sensors and behavioral states, maintaining records, performing technical analyses, and documenting abnormal findings.
The hourly salary range is $48.19 - $60.10, with total compensation details available at UCSF Benefits.
