Qualifications

• Must have MS, MA, or MEd in Biology or related disciplines with a minimum of 18 credits in biology or related science disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the lecture and lab instruction of all modules within the General Biology course.
• Travel to other campuses to deliver or coordinate with high school faculty to deliver General Biology courses in person.
• Engage in departmental and program service: updating syllabi, designing new lab protocols or course modules, aligning learning outcomes, evaluating OER to reduce student costs.
• Manage multi-section lab preparation, calibrate laboratory equipment, and update chemical/biological safety protocols.
• Supervise adjunct faculty and teaching assistants; provide timely feedback on course performance.
• Supervise undergraduate teaching assistants, work-study students, and peer tutors; manage schedules and grading turnaround times.
• Serve on departmental search committees, assessment committees and textbook selection panels.
• Participate in campus and institutional service: open houses, student days, and high school visits as needed.
• Facilitate pedagogy workshops on active learning or inclusive classroom practices for faculty and TAs.
• Participate in student orientation activities and judging research posters.
