Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School in Somers, NY is seeking a passionate Biology Teacher to join our faculty for September 2026. The role includes teaching high school biology, including Honors and AP Biology, and guiding engaging laboratory activities.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree (or is enrolled) and NYS certification is a plus; prior teaching experience is required. The teacher will integrate technology and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Teach biology and life science courses including Honors and AP Biology.
• Develop labs aligned with College Board biology standards.
• Plan, supervise and maintain safe, hands-on laboratory investigations.
• Assess learning with diverse formative and summative assessments.
• Maintain organized and safe classroom and laboratory environments.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
• Participate in faculty meetings and professional development.
• Mentor students and provide extra academic support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with College Board Biology standards.
• Teach Biology and related courses including Honors and AP Biology.
• Supervise and maintain safe, inquiry-based laboratories.
• Assess student learning using formative and summative methods.
