Job summary

Korro Bio, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Scientist I to join our biology group in Cambridge, MA. The role focuses on cell and molecular biology, with independence in assay development to advance RNA editing therapeutics.

The candidate will design and execute functional cell-based assays, maintain hepatocyte co-cultures, and collaborate across teams to generate meaningful pharmacodynamic data and ensure timely, high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related field; or MS with 6–9+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on mammalian cell culture including primary cells, iPSCs, and co-culture models.
• Proficiency with standard molecular biology techniques and data interpretation.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, execute, and interpret functional cell-based assays to validate targets and measure pharmacologic activity.
• Establish and maintain hepatocyte cultures and advanced co-culture systems for robust readouts.
• Collaborate with in vivo pharmacology to design ex vivo assay workflows and biomarker readouts.
• Analyze complex datasets and maintain precise lab records.
• Support operations with equipment maintenance and CRO coordination.
• Present data and propose next steps to program teams and leadership.
• Work with platform, data science, HTS, in vivo pharmacology, and DMPK teams to deliver results.
• Mentor junior scientists in experimental planning and execution.
