Job summary

Weekday 1 is seeking PhD-level biologists to contribute to an advanced AI safety initiative focused on how biological sciences are interpreted by AI systems. You will craft expert prompts and assess AI-generated content for accuracy, safety, and usefulness.

This fully remote, contract-based role offers 15–25 hours per week with potential to expand to 40 hours. Immediate start and comprehensive training are provided; US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biology or closely related life science discipline.
• Strong understanding of modern laboratory methodologies and computational techniques.
• Excellent scientific reasoning and English written communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop expert-level prompts covering topics within biological sciences.
• Review and annotate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
• Assess model outputs for safe handling of biosecurity-related topics.
• Apply evaluation guidelines to classify prompts, conversations, and model responses.
• Contribute scientific expertise to improve AI system safety and quality.
