Job summary

Indiana University South Bend's Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a full-time lecturer position starting either January 1 or August 1, 2027. The teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester and may include evening, weekend, off-site, or online courses.

Summer teaching is voluntary and compensated separately. The successful candidate will teach the introductory biology sequence (including labs) and courses such as introductory physiology, with opportunities to teach

Qualifications

• MS in Biology or related field required with university teaching experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated in teaching.
• Ability to teach introductory biology and lab courses at the university level.

Responsibilities

• Teach the introductory biology sequence including laboratories.
• Teach courses such as introductory physiology and potential upper-level classes.
• Participate in departmental service and attend faculty meetings.
• Prepare to teach face-to-face and online courses, including evenings or off-site sessions.
