Job Responsibilities

The Department of Agricultural and Biological Sciences at Truman State University is seeking candidates for Biology Laboratory Technician I. This is a ten month, benefits eligible position that works August through May annually.

  • Preparation of labs for cell biology, genetics, physiology, and microbiology.
  • General laboratory duties including media preparation.
  • General laboratory organization, set-up, and take-down.
  • Communicating with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in biological sciences or a closely related field.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple and varied tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biological sciences or a closely related field.
  • Two years of responsible experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Work experience in a University or office setting.
