Job summary

Seward County Community College in Liberal, KS seeks a full-time Biology instructor to prepare, teach, and assess lecture and lab courses. You will develop syllabi, guide student learning, and advise students while contributing to department activities.

Requirements include a Master’s degree or higher in Biology with relevant coursework; teaching experience at college level is preferred. Evening classes may occur; position is open until filled.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Biology or related field with 18 hours in Biology preferred.
• Evidence of thorough and accurate knowledge of discipline required.
• Previous teaching instruction in community college or secondary education preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree with 18 credit hours in graduate level organismal or pathophysiological coursework also considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, teach, and conduct lecture and laboratory courses as assigned.
• Develop syllabi and facilitate student learning in classroom and lab settings.
• Recruiting, advising, tutoring, and evaluating students is included.
• Typical teaching load is 30 credit hours per academic year.
• Some evenings may be required and duties may include advising and committee work.
